Director General Kim Chang Keon Awarded Uzbekistan’s Public Service Me…
On October 4, at the Korean Cultural Center in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, a Chuseok holiday celebration was held with the attendance of about 1,000 distinguished guests from
both Korea and Uzbekistan. At this event, Director General Kim Chang-Keon was awarded the Public Service Merit Medal in recognition of his dedicated volunteer activities
for the Korean diaspora community in Uzbekistan and, in particular, his contributions to the development of friendly cooperation between the two countries.
On behalf of the Government of Uzbekistan, Viktor Pak, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Korean Culture Association, presented the medal
along with words of special appreciation. In his acceptance speech, Director General Kim expressed his gratitude and pledged to further strengthen his role as a bridge in
promoting friendship and cooperation between Korea and Uzbekistan, as well as in advancing the Korean diaspora community in Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, Director General Kim has previously been awarded the highest Dostlik (“Friendship”) Order by the President of Uzbekistan, as well as the Order of Diplomatic
Merit by the Prosecutor General.
