On June 5, First Deputy Chairman Kim Chang Keon, on the first day of his official visit, took part in the Olympiad on the selection of gifted children and the selection of scholarship holders in Nurafshan. The organizers of the Olympiad were the Fergana Korean International University (KMUF), the Department of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the city of Tashkent and the khokimyat of the city of Nurapshen. On May 29, 2021, selection exams in mathematics, physics, and information technology were held for students in among those living in Tashkent. About 197 students took part in the examination, as a result, be published on June 5, 16 students of the scholarship were elected. The event was attended by the mayor of the city of Nurafshan, Mr. Saliev Muzaffar Haldorboevich, the rector of the KIUF University Park Joon-ho and Sentor Victor Pak and congratulated the students. 

In addition, on June 6, First Deputy Kim Chang Keon met with the governor of the Tashkent region and the side discussed the state of the current project of the New City of Nurafshan and the Project for the creation of a national educational complex on security issues.The meeting was attended by the Hakim of Nurafshan, Mr. Sliev, and the Chief of the National Police, Mr. Aripov, and detailed discussions were held on the progress of work on each project since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in April and May. And also the Parties agreed to concentrate all their competencies for the successful promotion of the project, organize TFT of each project in the near future and carry out a full-scale project. Meanwhile, this project will be developed in stages over about 5 years from the first half of 2022 to 2026, with the allocation of about 150 hectares (450,000 pyeong) in the development zone of the New City of Nurafshan, and this project will develop apartments, hospitals, universities and National Security Education Center. etc., and a project consortium will be formed between the companies of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association and the corresponding highly professional companies for the official promotion of the project.
