Online business forum between representatives of KUBA and Surkhandarya…

On December 11, an online forum was held between representatives of KUBA and the Surkhandarya region, which is located in the southernmost part of Uzbekistan. Until recently, representatives of the Korean business community visited Uzbekistan by sending charter flights, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this forum was held in video conferencing mode. From the Uzbek side, the forum was attended by the governor of the Surkhandarya region Bobolov Tura, the deputy governor for investments, the head of the Regional Office of the Investment Promotion Agency, the head of the Regional Tax Administration, the head of the CCI of the region and representatives of the business circles of the Surkhandarya region. The Korean side was attended by the first deputy chairman of KUBA Kim Chan Keon and representatives of about 30 organizations and member companies of KUBA. At the forum, basic data and information on the investment potential of the Surkhanadrya region were announced, as well as examples and opportunities for bilateral cooperation were presented. The governor of the region also assured the participants from the Korean side of their readiness to provide all kinds of support in the process of Korean companies entering Uzbekistan. In particular, representatives of the Iru company, who have been working with Uzbekistan for a long time on various projects in the field of building greenhouse complexes, expressed interest in the planned project of 400 hectares, as a result of which agreements were reached with the Uzbek side on the provision of side of additional materials about the project. In addition, the head of the representative office of a Korean company that supplies calibration equipment for grenades to Uzbekistan made a presentation of information for representatives of the Korean side, who spoke about the advantages and promising areas of doing business in the Surkhadarya region.
