On December 16 of this year, the First Deputy Chairman of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association Kim Chan Keon and representatives of KUBA visited Seowon University to discuss the issue of opening a branch of Seowon University at the Agricultural University of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. From the side of the University representatives, the meeting was attended by the Rector of Seowon University Song Sog Min, Vice-Rector Jong Heung Soo, Head of the Department for Foreign Cooperation Lee Seung-hee. Both sides discussed issues and plans to attract Korean universities to Karakalpakstan.

Seowon University has a 53-year history of activities in the field of education, and has become one of the recognized universities in Korea in the field of agriculture. In particular, it opens departments and is active in smart farms through the convergence of agriculture and IT. In particular, Rector Son Sog Min has been interested in overseas education and corporate social responsibility activities for more than 10 years, such as volunteering for lifelong learning of students in Vietnam and Cambodia. Rector Son noted that it will be possible to open and create the necessary branches of universities through a constant exchange of views.

In turn, the first deputy chairman of the CUBA Kim Chang-Keon shared his views on the promotion of significant educational projects through which it will be possible to transfer knowledge and experience regarding the advanced education system of Korea, educational know-how, agriculture, information technology, preschool education and the Korean language. A comprehensive memorandum of understanding was signed, including a timetable for future implementation, and an agreement was reached to facilitate the rapid progress of cooperation.
