On July 22, First Deputy Chairman Kim Chang Keon met with Abdul Hakim Atarud, Ambassador of the Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Korea, and the parties discussed in detail how to prevent the current problem of redundant TCR traffic through the recent rail link between Uzbekistan and AfghanistanCurrently, Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, transport their main logistics services to landlocked countries by TCR (China Railway) or TSR (Siberian Railway) but depending on the situation, problems and difficulties often arise therefore, measures to use the Afghan railway have been actively discussed lately. At this meeting, the parties shared their opinion that if Afghanistan is actively used for the new Central Asian logistics route, which is currently being promoted, it will save time and money, and agreed to actively cooperate in this direction. Also, Mr. Ambassador asked the association to cooperate with projects for the reconstruction of Afghanistan, such as ODA and PPP projects, and the parties agreed to find suitable items with which to cooperate in the near future.
