President Park Joon Ho also serves on the board of directors of the association. Establishing a private Korean-type university in Uzbekistan for the first time was very difficult, but despite this, with the help of the first deputy chairman of the association Kim Chang Keon, and the governor of Fergana, the university began its activities with 6 faculties and 720 students, and at the moment the university is planning to expand the number of students up to 1400 and electives at 16 faculties. As the number of face-to-face lessons increased due to the coronavirus, many other universities are in a difficult state, but in spite of this, the popularity and reputation of Korea International University became evident as the application was a lot of interviews over and they continued three days. Four professors participated during the interview, including President Joon-Ho Park and First Deputy Chairman of the Kim Chang Keon Association as interviewers, and each candidate appealed to their teaching skills by delivering lectures along with prepared presentation materials. Meanwhile, the professors who have passed the interview will be appointed from this fall semester, move to Fergana and start work.
