Korean-Uzbekistan Round Table Meeting

On November 25, a business round table between the two countries was held at the Emerald Hall, Lotte Hotel in Seoul Sogong-dong, under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov. 


This business meeting was prepared by the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan for consultations on major projects being promoted between the two countries, and recommendations before the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Korea in mid-December. 


The conference was attended by a representative of Uzbekistan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade Umurazakov, as well as First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, First Deputy Minister of Health, First Deputy Minister of Energy, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Textile Industry Association, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vitaly Fen, and from the Korean side, the chairmen from the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), the Korea Water Corporation (K-WATER), LH Corporation, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy and the Korea Uzbek Business Association (KUBA), Samsung Electronics, Kia Motors, CJ Group, Youngone Trading, KCC Group, POSCO International, Eurasia Networks Group, Edulink Global, Hanshin Engineering & Construction, SK Nexilis and SK Group. 


During the round table, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov noted that Korea is the most important trade partner of Uzbekistan, as well as a special strategic partnership, and relations between the two countries are developing faster than ever before, and expressed readiness provides comprehensive support in resolving related issues. 


In particular, at today's round table, many issues were resolved thanks to the active answers of the heads of departments in Uzbekistan, as well as questions from the departments present from the Korean side, and an agreement was reached to discuss and resolve the main issues through regular similar meetings in the future. 


Meanwhile, today's meeting was chaired by Kim Chang Keon, the first deputy chairman of the Association, and it went smoothly, thanks to the agreement of views between the two sides and further clarifications on outstanding issues.
