The ‘Korea-Uzbekistan Business Round Table’ was held jointly by the Uzbekistan government and related organizations at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on the 17th.
On this event Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Moon Seungwook, President of Korea International Trade Association Koo Ja-yeol, President of Korea Uzbekistan Business Association Kim Yong-gu, Executive Vice President of Korea Uzbekistan Business Association Kim Chang-keon, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. CEO Lee In-Yong, Yongone Trade Chairman Seong-gihak, SK Ecoplant CEO Park Kyung-il, Hanshin Chairman Choi Yong-sun and Posco International, Korea Water Resources Corporation, Inha University etc., 20 representatives from Korea's leading companies and institutions that have entered the Uzbekistan region attended.
From Uzbekistan, 10 government officials were in attendance, including Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umurzhakov, Minister of Preschool Education Agrephina Shin, Uzbekistan Ambassador Vitaly Penn and Vice Minister of Investment and Foreign Affairs Rajiz Kudratov etc.
Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a keynote speech on the topic of ‘Uzbekistan’s economic policy and development direction.’ At the business roundtable, participants from both countries discussed major issues, difficulties, and cooperation plans of companies in various fields such as information and communication technology (IT), construction infrastructure, resources, and consumer goods.
Koo Ja-yeol, President of the Korea International Trade Association, who delivered the keynote speech as the representative of Korea, said, “Next year is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, and it is an important time to prepare for a new 30 years. I hope that they will pay more attention to the resolution and support it.”
