Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Association (КUBA) Kim Chang Keon, who is in Uzbekistan on a working visit, met with the khokim of the Fergana region Khairullo Bozorov.
In particular, representatives of both sides got acquainted with the implementation of important bilateral projects in the Fergana region. Today, together with South Korean companies - members of the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Association, such projects are being implemented as the construction of a modern housing complex in the city of Kokand with the participation of Hanshin Engineering & Construction, the creation of Korean-type kindergartens with the participation of EDULINK Global, the construction of a hotel with the participation of Somang, expansion of the Korean International University in the city of Fergana (KIUF).
In addition, during the meeting, the parties exchanged views and discussed the issue of mutual cooperation and support between KIUF and the Presidential School in the city of Fergana.
Khairullo Bozorov highly appreciated the work of Kim Chang Keon and his great contribution, which he has made over the years to economic development and expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and in particular between the Fergana region and South Korea. In turn, Kim Chang Keon thanked the leadership of the region for their active position and constant support in promoting projects such as the Fergana-Korean International University, the KOICA Vocational Training Center, the Hanshin Kokand New City project, and the Kindergarten project from South Korean companies.
The parties exchanged views on the prospects for expanding bilateral cultural cooperation and mutual exchange as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea. In particular, one of the largest symphony orchestras in South Korea, the Korean Pops Orchestra, plans to visit the Fergana region this year with an extensive program of performances.
