A seminar on the Eurasian policy of 2019

On April 4, 2019, “Eurasia 21” held the first Eurasian policy seminar with the National Assembly Korea - Russia and the Secretariat of the Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum.

 

“Eurasia 21” was established in October 2017 with the purpose of forming, promoting, and disseminating practical Eurasian policies for the development of relations between Eurasia, including Russia, and the Korean peninsula.

 

Kim Seung-Dong, Chairman of the Eurasia 21, Kim Chang Keon, Chairman of Korea-Uzbekistan Business Center (Advisor to Prime Minister of the Rep of Uzbekistan/Trade & Investment Cooperation ), Hong Young-Pyo, Member of National Assembly Korea - Russia Future Forum, Member of Democratic Party (Co-Representative of Korea-Russia Future Forum), Lee Jin-Book,  Member of the Liberty Korea Party, Kim Sung-In, General Secretary of Korea-China Cooperation Forum, Barit Dyusenbaev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Wi Sung-Rak, Korean Ambassador to Russia, and others attended this seminar.

 

During the seminar, there were discussions in regards to the policy and the implementation plan for cooperation between South Korea and Central Asia prior to the visit of the President of the Korea – Moon Jae-In to Central Asia. These two topics were discussed on the following. 1. The formation of the new Korean Peninsular system and the future of the North Korean cooperation. 2. The task for the deepening of Korea - Central Asia cooperation. Such task would require steps, such as expanding goodwill between the two nations, raising mutual awareness, creating culture and consensus as well as mutual benefits and revitalizing Korea's economic market. 

Finally, the participants of the Eurasian seminar, continuing to the dialogue on the Korean Peninsula in the framework of this seminar, called for improving inter-Korean relations and cooperation between Korea and Central Asia, and urged them to actively pursue joint activities in the future.
