The State Visit of the President Moon Jae-In to Uzbekistan

On 19th President Mr. Moon Jae-In agreed with President Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev on “Special Strategy Accompany” who has newly developed Uzbekistan very well 

in terms of every sphere such as politics, economy and society as a part of his reform policy.

 

In addition, Mr. Moon mentioned that in order to extend exchange for both countries the “Investment Guarantee Agreement and the “Double Taxation Prevention Agreement” 

were amended as the first step, in order to expect stable activities of both countries' companies.

 

Both presidents will also research agendas related to FTA together, and try to find cooperative models through both countries' industrial infrastructure.

 

Regarding ICT, 5G, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Welfare and Medical Treatment will be cooperated in large on the preparation for 4th industrial revolution.

 

According to a local briefing in Tashkent by economic adviser Mr. Joo Hyung-Chul on June 20, both presidents will form a working group on economic cooperation and make a 

process to report directly on the progress status of major projects of both countries once in every three months. Therefore, there will be discussion in details and possibly potential 

investment of cooperative projects would increase.

 

President Mr.Mirziyoyev said that he thought Korea must be the first country that would like to have technical cooperation, and suggested projects worth USD 12 billion with regards to plants, power plants, hospitals, transportation, infrastructure and educational facilities.

 

In addition, President Mr. Mirziyoyev said "Korean compatriots play an important role in the development of Uzbekistan." "The house of Korean culture and art" 

that opens on the 20th will be a symbol of friendship between the two countries. Mr. Moon thanked Mr. President Mirziyoyev for supporting the settlement of the peace process 

on the Korean peninsula, such as sending a letter every other day at the inter - Korean summit.
