On April 19, the groundbreaking ceremony of Hyundai Commercial Vehicle KD (Knock Down) Namangan project was held. The groundbreaking ceremony was held at the summit and schedule of the President of Korea Moon Jae-In and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev.
Governor of Namangan Region Mr. Bozarov, Governor of Turakurgan District Mr. Murodxodjayev, President of Evergreen Motors Co., Ltd. Mr.Kim Chang Keon (Chairman of Korea-Uzbekistan Business Center & Adviser to Prime Minister of Rep of Uzbekistan), and important individuals from the inside and outside of the country also attended the ceremony.
Before starting the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Bozarov and Mr. Kim Chang Keon addressed the prospect of Hyundai Commercial Vehicle KD Namangan project. The first step of this project was the signing of an MOU on Uzbek President's visit to Korea on November, 2017 regarding the establishment of Hyundai Motor plants in Uzbekistan.
Hyundai Commercial Vehicles Namangan production plants is planning to produce about 1000 trucks in the early stages, and increase production of minibuses and buses up to 4,000 vehicles every year.
