President Yoon Suk Yeol paid a state visit to Uzbekistan for 3 days and 2 nights from the 13th to the 15th. He was met at the airport by Prime Minister Aripov, Minister of foreign affairs Saidov, Khokim of Tashkent Umurzakov and Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Korea V.V. Fen. Afterwards, President Yoon Suk Yeol laid a wreath at the Independence Monument of Uzbekistan, then viewed prototypes exhibited at the Startup Promotion Center of Uzbekistan, followed by a conversation with future generations of Korea-Uzbekistan innovators and a dinner with compatriots.


On the second day, the 14th, President Yoon Suk Yeol held a summit meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss expanding cooperation in energy and infrastructure, followed by a signing ceremony of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOU), a speech at the "Korea-Uzbekistan Business Forum", and a state banquet hosted by President Mirziyoyev and his wife. 


In his speech at the "Korea-Uzbekistan Business Forum" held at the Tashkent City Congress Hall in the capital of Uzbekistan, President Yoon Suk Yeol noted that Uzbekistan is a country that has established a special strategic partnership with South Korea and is the largest export destination in Central Asia, and that South Korea will further strengthen mutual and promising cooperation with Uzbekistan, a key partner and brotherly country in Central Asia. He also stressed, “We want to establish a ‘Major Minerals Supply Chain Partnership’ between the two countries,” and added, “Uzbekistan, which is rich in major minerals, and Korea, which has excellent processing technology, can be optimal partners for each other.”
