On the 16th, the Ministry of Economy and Finance signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with TMS Global regarding support for the meeting of finance and structural reform ministers of APEC countries. TMS Global will be the official sponsor of domestic Stevia cherry tomatoes at the APEC Finance Ministers and Structural Reforms Ministers Meeting, which will be held in Incheon from the 21st to the 23rd.

Stevia cherry tomatoes are a functional agricultural product that uses natural sweeteners to enhance sweetness while reducing calories. During the event, they will be provided to delegations from 21 APEC member countries, representatives of international organisations, businesses and journalists.

Yoon Jong-in, head of the APEC Finance Ministers and Structural Reforms Promotion Team at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, said, ‘We will actively support private companies in using this APEC meeting, which is being held in Korea for the first time in 20 years, as a springboard to enter the global market.’ He also noted, ‘More than 2,000 people are expected to attend the event, and we hope that this will have a positive impact on receiving international recommendations and increasing awareness.’

Jung Sang Won, CEO of TMS Global, said, ‘We have established our own research centre and factory for the production of high-quality cherry tomatoes and are currently actively entering foreign markets.’ This agreement is the latest official memorandum of understanding signed ahead of the meeting of finance and structural reform ministers. The Ministry of Economy and Finance has concluded a total of four agreements, including this one, relating to ceremonial vehicles (Hyundai Motor), desserts (Buchang Confectionery) and an inter-agency cooperation system (Incheon City).
