Kim Chang Keon was awarded the Honorary Citizen of Namangan

On June 14, Chairman of the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Center, Mr. Kim Chang Keon (Currently: Adviser of Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Trade & Investment Cooperation & President of Evergreen Motors Group) was awarded the “Honorary Citizen of Namangan” by the Governor of Namangan Region, Mr. Khayrullo Bozarov. Mr. Kim Chang Keon has been playing a crucial role in the development of Korea and Uzbekistan, especially in terms of Namangan’s economy, education, culture and various exchanges. In particular, about 40 Korean economic delegations from IT, education and construction sectors attended the ceremony, which was celebrated during the Namangan Business Forum.

Especially after President Moon Jae-in’s official visit to Uzbekistan, the relation between the two countries has transformed into a special partnership.  Furthermore, the establishment of Namangan Hyundai Commercial Vehicle Assembly Plant has been advertised as one of the three major economic development projects in Uzbekistan.

Chairman, Kim Chang Keon has made a great contribution to the establishment of Namangan Hyundai Commercial Vehicle Assembly Plant since last year. From this year, he has also contributed to the economic development of Namangan region by attracting investment and establishment of Korean universities and general hospitals. He promised to continue his efforts in the field of economic exchange and cooperation for both countries.
