Visit of the Korean Economic Delegation to Samarkand Region

From August 12th to 13th, about 40 Korean economic delegations took part in Samarkand business forum hosted by the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Center and the Embassy of the Rep of Uzbekistan in Korea. First date of August 13th Korean economic delegations visited the Urgut FEZ(Free Economy Zone) and they received a lot of efficient information about the ongoing projects on hotel, tourism, IT, agricultural products, photovoltaic, greenhouse and general manufacturing industry by the presentation of the director of Urgut FEZ, Mr. Jamshid Khaydarov.

The official business forum was held at Samarkand City Hall the next day. Governor of the Samarkand Region, Mr. Erkinjon Turdimov after his greeting speech to the Korean delegations presented the general economic status of Samarkand. The governor expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Korean-Uzbekistan Business Center, Mr. Kim Chang Keon (Currently: Adviser to Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Trade & Investment Cooperation) for his contribution to the economic development of the both countries. Mr. Kim Chang Keon promised to make more efforts and will service as a bridge for cooperation between the Samarkand Region and the Korean economic delegation.  

Presentations in various sectors, such as hotel construction, IT and automobile were held during the official business forum. After the official forum, the B2B and B2C meetings between local companies in Samarkand and the Korean economic delegation proceeded with the signing of a MOU for mutual cooperation.
