On October 15-16, 20 Korean economic delegations of Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated in the Fergana Business Forum, organized by the government of the Fergana region and Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce and Industry. On the first day of the visit, October 15, the delegation met with the deputy governor of the Fergana region to discuss further joint projects.

On October 16, the business forum opened with a welcoming speech by the Deputy Governor of the Fergana Region, the Head of Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Park Song Kwon, and the Chairman of the Korean-Uzbekistan Business Center, Mr. Kim Chang Keon (Currently: Adviser to Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Trade & Investment Cooperation). Then, the deputy governor of the Fergana region made a presentation on the economic conditions of the Fergana region. It was mentioned that the visit of the head of Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Park Song Kwon to the Fergana region, will ensure active cooperation and exchange between the two cities. And also the chairman of the Korean-Uzbekistan business center, Mr. Kim Chang Keon, promised to make more efforts and will service as a bridge for future successful cooperation.

Also, a memorandum of understanding concluded between the Fergana Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce and Industry will ensure the further development of specific and long-term relations of economic cooperation. During the visit, issues were discussed in various fields, such as the production of automotive and semiconductor components, energy, chemicals, and general household goods. On this day, the delegation also visited the Kokand Free Economic Zone and exchanged information on tax incentives and various advantages for investors, which will lead to long-term cooperation in the future.
