On July 6, in Seoul, negotiations were held between the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov and the Deputy Prime Minister– Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea Hong Nam Ki. 

At the meeting, an analysis of the current economic cooperation between the two countries was carried out, and further tasks were identified to expand bilateral cooperation, we note that on May 6 this year, a video conference was held between Deputy Prime Minister Hong and Deputy Prime Minister Umurzakov. 

Also during the meeting, the parties shared the potential for expanding trade between South Korea and Uzbekistan and discussed various measures to expand trade. 

Separate emphasis was placed on the tangible support of the Korean side in matters of bilateral cooperation in the framework of accession to the World Trade Organization, in particular due to the practical assistance of the chairman of the Working Group on Uzbekistan’s WTO accession, as well as close cooperation with the Korean Institute of International Economic Policy regarding research on issues of assessing the consequences of Uzbekistan joining the WTO.
