On July 30 at 2 o'clock (Korea time), the Korea Uzbekistan Business Center in the city of Incheon held a ceremony of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Syrdarya region and the Bureau of Health and Social Security of the Administration of Incheon and the Tourism Organization of Incheon for exchange and cooperation in the field of healthcare and medicine.
The ceremony was held via video conferencing in accordance with the COVID-19 concept, at the active initiative of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association, the Health and Welfare Bureau of the Incheon City Administration, and the Incheon Tourism Organization.
More than 20 officials took part in the signing ceremony, including Deputy Governor of Syrdarya region O. Nasirov, Director General of the Health and Welfare Bureau of Incheon Administration Kim Hye Kyeong, Vice President of Inchon Tourism Organization Lee Gun Woo and First Deputy Chairman of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association Kim Chang Keon .
The main content of the memorandum of understanding includes exchanges between the relevant authorities and cooperation of experts in this field, cooperation in the exchange of modern medical technologies in both cities, including medical tourism, as well as the exchange of information on health policies and programs.
In particular, the First Deputy Chairman of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association Kim Chang Keon, who conducted the ceremony of signing the Memorandum of Understanding, expressed gratitude to the government of Incheon city for medical support for affected of the destruction of the dam in the Syrdarya region, and promised to do everything possible to play a key role in cooperation projects between the two cities.
Kim Hye Kyeong, Director General of the Incheon Administration's Health and Welfare Bureau, said, "We hope this opportunity will help the medical development of both cities by sharing the medical system know-how and prevention in Korea with Uzbekistan."
Deputy Covernor of Syrdarya region O. Nasirov emphasized “During the summit talks last year, President Mun Je In said:“ Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea cannot develop without cooperation with each other" and I hope that in the future, bilateral relations will advance through innovation and development." In addition, he said that he would deeply study Incheon's rich experience in the development of medical tourism and make efforts to implement Korea's quarantine measures to prevent the spread of Corona 19 in Uzbekistan.
