On September 22, in the city of Namangan, a meeting was held between Kim Chang Keon and the governor of the region Khairullo Bozarov. The negotiations were also attended by the Executive Vice President for Automotive Business of "Evergreen Motors" Kim Ik Dong, Head of the "Hyundai Motors UZ Namangan" Joint Venture Kim Yong Chol, Director of the Representative Office of the "Korea Uzbekistan Business Association in Uzbekistan Yoon Jeong Seok, as well as those responsible employees of the regional administration. This project was postponed due to the change of president of Hyundai Motor, some Korean partners have abandoned the project due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but a new Korean consortium, including Hyundai Motor, with the support of the Namangan region government, intends to begin the project before the end of this year.
