On September 23, the official opening ceremony of the representative office of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association in the Fergana region was held in the city of Fergana. The main guests at the event were the khokim of the Fergana region Shukhrat Ganiev, the deputy khokim of the region Mukhsinkhuzha Abdurakhmonov and the first deputy chairman of the Association Kim Chang Keon, the head of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association in the Fergana region, Yoon Jeong Seok, executive director of the Evergreen Motors company Kim Ik Dong , as well as responsible employees of the khokimiyat.
At the event, Deputy Precedent Kim Chang Keon emphasized: "The current office of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association will make every effort to develop friendly relations, economic development, implementation of various investment projects and cultural exchange between Korea and Uzbekistan." The opening of a representative office of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association was proposed on July 6 when Deputy Prime Minister Umurzakov and Governor Ganiev attended a meeting by the head of the association during their visit to Korea. The event was also attended by the founder and rector of the Korean International University in Fergana Park Joon Ho.
